Media and Information Literacy Student Outcomes

Media and Information Literacy Concepts- Students demonstrate a sound understanding of media and information concepts. Students will:

  • Understand the use of traditional and electronic media and information resources
  • Select and use media and information resources effectively and productively
  • Transfer current knowledge to learning of new media and information resources

Communication, Collaboration, and Ethical Use- Students use media and information resources to communicate ideas and work collaboratively and ethically, to support individual learning and contribute to the positive learning atmosphere at Jakarta Intercultural School. Students will:

  • Interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, faculty and other employing a wide variety of technology, media, and information tools
  • Create products that apply to authentic, meaningful contexts
  • Understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology, media, and information tools
  • Practice safe, legal, and responsible use of media and information resources

Research Skills, Problem Solving, and Decision Making- Students inquire, think critically, and apply a wide variety of information and media resources to conduct research, solve problems, and make decisions. Students will:

  • Apply or use research skills to complete a task
  • Plan and manage activities to develop a solution or complete a project

Personal and Aesthetic Growth- Students independently pursue personal and aesthetic growth. Students will:

  • Read, view, and listen for pleasure and personal growth

Defining
