JIS Libraries: Gifts and Donations

The JIS Library may consider gifts and donations. All items are judged by the selection criteria listed above and accepted or rejected based on the criteria and discretion of the librarians.

Gifts of library materials (books, magazines, etc.) may be accepted with the understanding that the JIS Library reserves the right to add them to its collection, distribute them to other libraries, donate them, or discard them.

All personal property, art objects, portraits, antiques, and other collectibles, if accepted, are accepted only on the condition that they may be kept or eventually given away or discarded at the librarian's discretion.  The JIS Library will not appraise or estimate the value of gift donations; the responsibility for such assessment lies with the donor.
