Welcome to the JIS Online Library

The JIS Online Library is central to providing a stimulating learning environment that supports the Jakarta Intercultural School vision and aims to promote an information empowered and literature enriched school community of independent, lifelong learners.



The purpose of the JIS Online Library is to:

• support, enrich and implement the learning and teaching program of the school by collaborating with teachers to plan, produce, and teach curriculum units that encourage students to develop their independent learning skills.
• nurture, inspire, and stimulate the vital importance of reading for pleasure and information.
• manage an extensive and relevant collection of curriculum resources to support the learning, co-curricular, and recreational needs of the school community.

Real-Time Research and Library Assistance 

As you work through the research process, especially when working at home, know the High School Librarian is readily available for online consultations and questions.  Assuming you are both in similar time zones, Mr. Schafer nad the rest of the High School Library team usually respond to Email and Google Hangout messages within a few minutes.  Rest assured they are thrilled to help you find books to read, explore, research sources, tackle citations, and navigate our academic databases and the World Wide Web for solid resources.
