Note: A. You only are to create one personal link for all of your classes. Think of it as a virtual classroom.
Step 0. ENSURE YOU ARE USING A LICENSED ZOOM ACCOUNT.
Step 1. Customize Your Personal Link in Zoom
Go to Zoom.us and sign in with your JIS account.
Go to Profile, and then look for Personal Link. Click Customize.
Step 2. Set a Recurring Meeting
Still in Zoom, go to the Meetings menu and click the "+Schedule a Meeting" button to the right.
Set a new meeting with these exact settings. (Note: For topic, use something general like "Mr. Smith's Room" or "Mrs. Baker's Classroom." You will use the same room/link for all of your classes.
Click Save.
You now have a permanent Zoom meeting you can start and finish any time you wish.
Method 1
1. Paste your personal link (zoom.us/my/usernamejis) into a browser (Chrome, etc...), login into Zoom if needed, and enjoy your meeting.
Method 2
2. Open the Zoom app, drop down the "New Meeting" menu, and be sure the "Use My Personal Meeting ID..." box is checked. You will only have to do this once. From then on simply click the orange button to launch your Zoom classroom.
When your meeting concludes leave as usual. To start your next meeting repeat #1 or #2 above.
Paste your personal Zoom link into Section in your Classroom settings:
Throughout the semester, students can copy your personal Zoom link directly from the header on the Classroom Stream page and paste it in their browser. They can also bookmark your personal Zoom, store it on a virtual sticky note, etc... Whatever works for them will be fine.
As always, please hit up Matthew Schafer in the High School Library for help or more information.
