BTSN 2025 Google Meet Builder: Instructions

Head to your main Google Classroom page and create a new classroom titled "Your Last Name BTSN 2025".  Add your first initial if needed.  Be sure to click create when finished.

Just like we did to prepare for online learning, go to the settings gear and activate your Google Meet Classroom link.  Make it visible to students to be sure it is enabled.

Click the 3-dot menu next to your new Google Meet Classroom button on your BTSN Google Classroom stream page and COPY your link.

Then head to the "2025 BTSN Google Meet Classrooms" spreadsheet.  Add your email adress and paste your BTSN Google Meet link to the appropriate columns.

When you are certain all is correct, you have finsihed!

As with all Back to School Nights, our amazing IT crew builds custom schedules for our families. The above spreadsheet will allow them to easily add a column for your Google Meet link.  Imagine the schedule below with a column of Google Meet Addresses for each teacher.

What to Do

• Simply open your BTSN Google Meet Classroom and use it all evening for every single class.
• You may open and close it at will, but always return the same link.
• Everyone (students, parents, pets, siblings, etc...) who visits your BTSN Google Meet classroom will be stopped in a waiting room until you admit them.  As you would with Zoom, be vigilant to ensure those who show up a bit late are admitted... and that obvious intruders are not. 
• Keep things simple, and be sure to have a formal dress rehearsal that includes your tech tools BEFORE going live.   

What NOT to Do

• The biggest mistake one could make is resetting/removing their BTSN Google Meet Classroom link.  This will negate everything.   Once you post the correct link to the spreadsheet, leave it alone.
