The Virtual High School Library @ JIS: Home

These are go-to resources should JIS close for an extended period.

Research- The High School Reasearch Portal

Everything you need to research is found in THE HIGH SCHOOL RESEARCH PORTAL including tools to choose topics, organize planning, revise drafts, and correctly document and site one's sources.  More important, the LOCATE tab is a clear pathway to literally thousands of excellent full-text magazines, journals, books, newspapers, speeches, videos, etc... of every level.  The resources are endless.

Research- All Gale Products

Click here for quick access to all of our Gale Databases and eBooks.  Members of the JIS community may click here for login information for off-campus access.

Research- MyBib

  • By far, our easiest to use referencing tool is MyBib.  It allows users to store multiple bibliographies, continually add resources, and format their resource correctly in MLA format.
  • In fact, MyBib is so easy we HIGHLY RECOMMEND every JIS high school student create a MyBib account.

Reading- Using Follett eBooks

Reading- Teen Book Cloud

Teen Bookcloud is a collection of online read-along middle/high/young adult level eBooks in categories such as graphic novelsearly readers, chapter books, teen fiction, classics, and drama/poetry.  Login at school is automatic.  Please click here for login information for off campus access.

Reading- Project Gutenberg

Project Gutenberg is a library of over 60,000 free eBooks. Choose among free epub and Kindle eBooks, download them or read them online. You will find the world's great literature here, with focus on older works for which U.S. copyright has expired.
